Leaving in one week

After almost a year of preparations, the time is almost upon me. I leave for Kigali next Friday in the wee hours of the morning. My bags are mostly packed and, to my delight, are not overweight. Although I am. : (
I remain busy right up to the last minute, with taking care of my mother, visiting Sophia and company in toronto, seeing my doctor, getting all my medications ready, wiring the money I have raised for Tubahumurize and so on.
I am very proud to have raised over $10,000 for Tubahumurize, including the sewing machine project (www.givemeaning.com/project/tubahumurize), which I hear is up and running, with 20 very eager young women starting a year of learning about sewing and tailoring. Thanks to my friends and family for your incredible generosity.
I am very excited about this whole adventure. Starting to get nervous too. Mostly just a big three month blank lies ahead. The unknown. I'm ready to fill it. Woo hoo!
